Find free certs for your military job

Enter your Army or Marine Corps MOS, Navy or Coast Guard rating, Air Force or Space Force AFSC, or a civilian job title. You'll see suggested free programs on this site for the civilian jobs your code translates to. They are a starting point, not a rule.

Planning a career change?

Pick a target career to see the free programs that lead there, entry level first. If you entered your military job above, you'll also see which skills and knowledge carry over and which are new, based on O*NET ratings.

Where this data comes from

Military-to-civilian matches come only from official crosswalks: the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) Military Occupational Classification crosswalk as published by the O*NET Resource Center (August 2024 update), plus the O*NET supplemental links from DoD COOL branch sites and Careers in the Military (August 2024). A supplemental link is shown only when its O*NET skill-importance profile correlates at 0.80 or higher with one of the code's primary DMDC occupations and its job zone is within one step; broad catch-all courses are shown only on a direct match, and a short reviewed override list removes or promotes a few programs. Civilian occupations, job titles, related occupations, skills and knowledge come from the O*NET 31.0 Database (August 2026). We link programs to occupations through each program's listed job titles, credential and topic. "Start here / Next step / Advanced" is our own ordering by credential level. For a few common codes with no official match, an "Our picks" group lists programs we chose from transferable duties; it is labeled as editor's choice and is not part of any official crosswalk.

Matches are a starting point, not a guarantee of eligibility or employment. For credentials tied to your specific job, see DoD COOL.
