VR&E (Chapter 31) programs for veterans

Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E, Chapter 31) helps Veterans and service members with a service-connected disability prepare for, find and keep suitable jobs. VA says Veterans can apply if they did not receive a dishonorable discharge and have a VA service-connected disability rating of at least 10%; a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor then decides entitlement. VR&E can pay for training, education, apprenticeships and on-the-job training that fit your rehabilitation plan. The listings below are VR&E services and programs that VR&E can pay for. Source: VA: VR&E eligibility (checked Oct 4, 2026).

14 programs listed. 0 are free with no VA benefit needed, 14 are free or paid through a VA benefit (GI Bill, VR&E or VET TEC 2.0). Last checked Sep 30 to Oct 4, 2026.
